As TV fans can't get enough of raunchy reality TV - think Love Island, and Netflix's newest show Temptation Island, - there's a huge trend in naughty TV and while Big Brother is renowned for its drama fuelled spars and memorable bust-ups, producers are looking to create some romance now too.
A source told The Sun: "Big Brother has always done drama and bust-ups very well, but the sight of in a catsuit won’t cut it any more. But creating an authentic romance or, let’s face it, convincing 'showmance' doesn’t just happen. There’s a certain alchemy to it, creating the right environment as well as installing the perfect cast."
There are a few new additions to the house, including a cosy little corner in the garden with a double-depth sofa and black-out windows just perfect for a couple to get cosy - and it’s already been christened the “sex den” by crew. The bedroom only has double beds as well, meaning housemates will be forced to get cosy.
Big Brother has seen its fair share of romances on the show, including the time when Stephanie Davis fell for Jeremy McConnell in 2016 while her boyfriend, Sam Reece, watched on from his armchair at home, as well as 2023 winner Jordan Sangha smooching Henry Southan in the hot tub, proving the hot tub is a welcome addition to the furniture.
Other changes include the change in location. to a "brand-new secret location". It will host "a new batch of VIPs" ready to take on TV's OG social experiment. But that's not all – while fans have seen a mezzanine level in the house in recent years, Host Will said: "No mezzanine, but instead of the mezzanine, we've been assured that there will be other interesting and surprising features of the house."
Elsewhere, the house has had a major face lift. Housemates will walk into an open-plan kitchen and living area and like previous years, is likely to become the centre of a string of explosive feuds. Two giant sofas make up the living area, while celebs will eat and argue over a long dining table.
Celebrity Big Brother airs on Monday, April 7 on ITV1 at 9pm
