Mikel Arteta faced the press ahead of Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League semi-final clash with PSG. Hearing from the Gunners’ boss inside the Parc des Princes, the main concerns surrounded the team and the latest injury news.
Jurrien Timber was absent from the squad that lost to Bournemouth on the weekend. Mikel Arteta was not offering any encouragement after the defeat on Saturday and said he was not confident.
However, in the open training session on Tuesday morning, Timber was spotted alongside Riccardo Calafiori who has also been missing since the March international break with a knee injury.
Asked for the latest team news, Arteta did indeed give an update on the pair and others in the group. On Timber it was put to Arteta that he indeed did train but the Spaniard replied by saying: “We will decide tomorrow if he is ready to play.”
On Calafiori: “He’s trained and is fit and ready to play if we need him.”
