Patna (Bihar) [India], April 16 (ANI): Bihar Minister and BJP leader Sanjay Saraogi has asserted that no matter what Congress-RJD does, NDA will win again under Nitish Kumar's leadership.
Speaking to media, Saraogi said, "No matter what they do, nothing is going to happen. NDA will win again under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. He (Tejashwi Yadav) may have gone to touch the feet, but nothing will be achieved by this. Common people are with NDA, Prime Minister Modi and Nitish Kumar's double-engine government. There is a spring of development in Bihar. NDA is united, they are divided."
Saraogi's comments follow the Congress-RJD meeting, which was conducted at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's residence to discuss poll strategy and seat sharing.
Earlier, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son, Nishant Kumar, expressed confidence that his father would retain his position after the Bihar Assembly elections.
Speaking to the media, Nishant Kumar said, "It is an appeal to Bihar's public to give a majority (to JDU) more than what they gave in 2010. Nitish Kumar will undoubtedly become the CM."
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary also expressed a similar sentiment and said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will retain his post after the Bihar Assembly elections even if the "entire UPA, INDI alliance" fights the polls.
"There is no challenge. Even if the entire UPA and the entire INDI alliance fight, Nitish Kumar will remain the Chief Minister of Bihar," Samrat Chaudhary told reporters in Patna.
Chaudhary's comments follow the Congress-RJD meeting, which was conducted at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's residence to discuss poll strategy and seat sharing.
"This time, change is certain in Bihar. Today, we met the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav and discussed the strengthening of the Mahagathbandhan. In the coming elections, we will give the people of Bihar a strong, positive, just and welfare-oriented option. Bihar will be freed from the BJP and its opportunistic alliance," Kharge said.
Meanwhile, Mallikarjun Kharge, while posting about the meeting with Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav and others, said that the state will be freed from the BJP and its "opportunist" alliance after the polls, which will be conducted later this year.
"Youth, farmers-labourers, women, backwards, extremely backwards and people of all other sections of the society want the Mahagathbandhan government," the Congress President said.
Bihar Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru said, "Today's meeting was just a beginning... There is a second meeting in Patna on the 17th of April. The work that started in the meeting will be taken forward in Bihar by building a consensus and strategy with all the parties."
Bihar Congress President Rajesh Kumar said, "The meeting was very good, and we will fight the NDA government with unity. Many topics were discussed. We will move forward on all those topics in a systematic manner... We will sit on different dates and discuss all the points."
Tejashwi Yadav also expressed that a united alliance is ready to fight the elections. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Yadav said that another meeting would take place on April 17 in Patna.
On the question of the Chief Ministerial's face, he said it would be decided unanimously while also declaring that the NDA will not form the government in Bihar at this time. (ANI)
