Security Check: The biggest lesson from the Pahalgam terror attack is to do a security check like this before going to any tourist spot...

Send Push

People are angry about the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In this attack, the terrorists asked the religion of 26 tourists and shot them. This attack has once again raised a big security question. Jammu and Kashmir is a very sensitive area, there are many reports of encounters between the army and terrorists. But for the first time, tourists were attacked at a tourist spot there, which also shows the lack of security. Therefore, checking the security yourself before going to any tourist place is not only wise, but you are also protecting yourself and hundreds of people from the danger zone.

Before going to any tourist place, talk to the nearest police station or army checkpoint. Ask if there has been any threat or incident in recent days. Is it safe for common people to come and go? Such information gives you a correct idea of the security situation at the ground level and if you feel that the security is not tight, then ask them to keep that place on high alert mode when more tourists come there.

Get information from local people.
Whenever you plan to visit a new place, contact the local people there. Be it, hotel owners, cab drivers, or guides, know from them whether there is any danger to tourists in that area. Many times local people can give you information that you will not get anywhere else.

Check social media and tourism portals as well.
See recent posts and videos about that place on social media platforms. The feedback of people there shows whether the atmosphere is good or someone has shared a negative experience. Apart from this, research travel forums and review sites. Like Google Reviews and read the experiences of real users on many social media platforms. Here people often write clearly that there is no danger in going there. What is good and what is wrong there? Apart from this, keep an eye on alerts and advisories. Check the tourism portals of the Government of India and the travel advisory issued by the Home Ministry. If any area is declared sensitive or risky, then you should avoid going there. The most important thing is that wherever you go, keep sharing your location and travel plan with your close relatives or friends so that they can contact you in case of any emergency.
