Punjab Kings' captain Shreyas Iyer hilariously wiped his face off after franchise co-owner Ness Wadia planted a kiss on his cheek as the star batter was cutting a cake following his match-winning 87 against the Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 clash. A video of the same surfaced on social media as the rest of the players were also involved in the celebration.
Iyer, who walked in at number four after Josh Inglis and Priyansh Arya had stabilised things, shepherded the run-chase of 204 exceptionally well. The Mumbai-born cricketer hammered eight sixes in his unbeaten 41-ball knock and ended Mumbai Indians' run of defending 200+ scores successfully in their tournament history. Earlier, Mumbai Indians got to 203 on the back of Suryakumar Yadav and Naman Dhir chipping in with 44 runs each.

"I love the fearless nature that we bring to the table" - Shreyas Iyer
When asked about his leadership style during the post-game presentation, Iyer said he doesn't prefer speaking to them much and instead lets them bring ideas to the table. The 30-year-old especially pointed out that their fearless nature brings out the best in them.
"I just let them be, I don't ask too much of them, I love the fearless nature that we bring to the table and also the ideas that they share. They would be having a fair set of ideas about how to play that situation. Even though they haven't got that much of experience, they've got the brave nature and on such big occasions, it's important that they gain more experience."
Both Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will face off in the final to seal their first title.
