Maharashtra State Congress Vice President Mohan Joshi on Friday said that the credit for the decision to conduct a caste census by centre goes to Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi.
He emphasised that the decision of a caste census is a significant victory for Rahul Gandhi.
Congress workers, under Joshi's leadership, celebrated this victory at Mahatma Phule Wada.
Mohan Joshi explained that Rahul Gandhi had been advocating for a caste census in Parliament and on various platforms for the last 10 years. "Despite repeated dismissals of his demands by BJP leaders, Gandhi's persistence eventually led the government to concede," said Joshi as he praised Rahul Gandhi for "always standing with the common people."
