Especially young people, who do office work or spend more time on mobile-laptop, consider it to be normal pain. Do you know that these signs can also be a part of a serious problem? According to experts, tingling or pain in the hands, repeated numbness or burning sensation can point to a medical condition, which is called brachialgia in medical language. It can be a sign of many other problems going on in the body. So let us know why there is pain or tingling in the hands, what can be the reason behind it and how to avoid it.
The real reasons behind tingling and pain in hands?
1. Cervical Spondylosis - This problem also causes tingling and pain in the hands. In this medical condition, with increasing age, the spinal cord starts getting worn out and there is pain from the neck and shoulders to the hands.
2. Peripheral neuropathy - In this the nerves of hands and feet become weak. This happens to people with diabetes, alcoholism or a vitamin deficiency. This causes burning, tingling, and numbness in the hands.
3. Brachial Plexus Injury - This injury occurs due to falling from a bike, accident, or excessive stretching, resulting in severe pain, weakness, or numbness in the hand.
4. Cervical disc herniation - In this condition, the spinal nerves get compressed near the neck. Especially those who spend a lot of time on the computer or sit in a bad posture. This also causes pain, tingling, and weakness in the hands.
5. Thoracic outlet syndrome - In this, the nerves going from the neck to the shoulder get compressed. This problem occurs due to lifting heavy bags, sitting in the wrong way or working by bending for a long time. This also causes tingling and pain in the hand.
6. Frozen shoulder - In this, the shoulder gradually becomes stiff. This problem is more common in diabetic patients. Due to this, there is pain from the shoulder to the hand and difficulty in moving it.
7. Heart-related pain - Sometimes the pain of heart problems can also be felt in the arms or upper part of the body. Especially pain, heaviness or burning in the left arm, which should not be ignored.
How can these problems be avoided?
1. If these symptoms persist, do not take it lightly, and do not self-treat with painkillers. This will suppress the pain but will not end the problem.
2. In such a situation, it is important that you meet a neurologist or orthopedic doctor.
3. Get a test of nerves and an MRI done because this can be beneficial.
4. Physiotherapy provides a lot of relief in these problems, so get physiotherapy done.
5. Along with this, correct your posture, sit right while working, keep the mobile or laptop at the right angle.
Apart from this, do exercise and stretching because neck and shoulder exercises do not put pressure on the nerves.
