Ryanair is strict regarding hand luggage and if any bags exceed the airline's size restrictions, they will be placed in the airport's cargo hold and passengers will need to pay excess baggage fee at check-in.
The rules may be strict on Ryanair, but they are pretty straightforward. All ticket holders are entitled to bring on a small bag measuring no more than 40cm x 20cm x 25cm, that must fit into the sizer and must not weigh any more than 10kg.
Priority boarding passengers can also bring a larger cabin bag (55 x 40 x 20cm) with a maximum weight allowance of 10kg into the cabin free of charge.
