Bryan Adams made a surprise appearance on stage with Ronan Keating at BBC Radio 2 in the Park yesterday.

The 48-year-old – who began his career in the boyband Boyzone in 1993 – took the main stage at the Chelmsford music festival at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex. Thousands of festivalgoers descended on the park to see the likes of; Stereophonics, Jessie J, Ronan Keating and many more.

The three-day event kicked off with Stereophonics opening the Main Stage rocking the crowd with an electrifying performance featuring their fan favourites and biggest hits. Their set list included: Vegas Two Times, I Wanna Get Lost With You, Have a Nice Day, There's Always Gonna Be Something, Maybe Tomorrow and Dakota

Bryan Adams made a surprise appearance on stage with Ronan Keating joining him for a special performance of ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’. Introducing Bryan to the stage, Ronan told the crowd how much Bryan changed his life.

Ronan earlier revealed to Scott Mills and Zoe Ball that Bryan Adams only called him Friday afternoon to arrange the collaboration. Ronan lit up the stage with timeless hits like Loving Each Day, Baby Can I Hold You, When You Say Nothing at All, and Life is a Rollercoaster. Harley Moon Kemp joined Ronan on stage to perform ‘Last Thing On My Mind’.

Singer song-writer, Belinda Carlisle performed We Want The Same Thing, Live Your Life (Be Free), Big Big Love, I Get Weak, Circle In The Sand, Summer Rain, Big Scary Animal, Leave A Light On and Heaven on Earth. While Ella Henderson fueled further excitement today with her hit songs including REACT, Crazy What Love Can Do, Me & You, Filthy Rich, Let's Go Home Together, Alibi and the classic hit Ghost.

Jessie J gave an emotional messageon her return to the stage following her cancer treatment. Jessie, 37, announced in June that she'd been diagnosed with "early" breast cancer and later revealed that she had surgery following the diagnosis.

She then shared last month that she was needing to delay her tour. She told fans at the time that she needed to have a second operation by the end of this year. Now, speaking to the Essex crowd about her diagnosis, the Price Tag singer said: "I had breast cancer surgery 11 weeks ago today and the last show I did I had no idea what was gonna happen. And I'm still very much in the recovery process."

She went on: "I'm just so grateful to be here. You have no idea how grateful I am to see so many of you singing along after all these years. It truly feels like I'm a little kid still doing what I love."

And she added how the occasion as made even more special as her son Sky, two, was there watching on. "Another special thing that's happening today is that my son is seeing me sing on stage for the first time."

Jessie J even brought out her son Sky on stage and he sang an impromptu Happy Birthday to the thousands of fans watching.

Off stage Rylan Clark and new boyfriend Kennedy Bates caught the attention of many festivalgoers as they proudly showed off their blossoming love. The couple were spotted together socialising with friends in the VIP area at the event in Chelmsford on Saturday.

They appeared in good spirits as they joined friends at a picnic bench, chatted and laughed with their group of chums, and looked relaxed and comfortable in each other's company as they spent their time in the sunshine.

The festival draws to a close tomorrow night but acts set to take to the stage tomorrow include headliner Def Leppard along with Olly Murs, Anastacia, Soul II Sou, Suede, Louise, David Gray and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
