Police officers have heard all manner of excuses from speeding drivers - but one man had a truly bizarre explanation when he was recently caught driving 107 miles per hour in his convertible Corvette.
The man, identified as 57-year-old driver Michael Stanek, was seen on body camera trying to explain away his excessive speed after he was pulled over in Palm Coast, Florida.
A deputy trailed him weaving through traffic on a 70mph stretch of Interstate 95 before pulling him over. The footage shows Stanek stepping out, getting handcuffed and standing behind his sports car while he is patted down.

"Going 107, weaving in and out of traffic, why you going so fast?" the officer asks.
"I have an appointment with my barber," Stanek responds. When asked why he needed to go so quickly, he replies by simply saying, "I'm sorry".
The state of Florida recently introduced a 'super speeder' law, making it a criminal offence to go more than 50mph over the speed limit or 100mph. As a result, the traffic unit deputy tells Stanek that he will be spending the night in jail after "weaving in and out of traffic" and "putting other people's lives in danger". He was arrested for dangerous excessive speeding.
It comes after a court heard how a driver deliberately removed the black box from his car before hitting and killing a schoolgirl.
Christopher West, 42, was speeding in a 30mph zone when he allegedly struck 15-year-old Keely Morgan in Heol Trelai in Caerau, Cardiff, in May 2023.

The court heard West had been "showing off" to two young passengers in his black Vauxhall Astra before the devastating crash.
Keely was standing at a zebra crossing waiting at about 9.30pm when she was hit, emergency services were called but she tragically died at the scene.
A post-mortem was carried out and experts concluded that the schoolgirl had died due to "multiple blunt force injuries".
In July, he was jailed for 16 months after admitting causing death by careless driving and death by driving without insurance after removing the black box in his vehicle, which voided his policy. He was also disqualified from driving for two years and eight months.
Keely's family said at the time that the sentence "does not reflect the enormity of what has been taken from us".
There was swearing and a shout of "disgusting" as the sentence was given, with some members of Keely's family walking out of Cardiff Crown Court.
