There's heartache on this week for Steph Miligan, with actress Georgia Jay revealing her character has hit rock bottom.
The recent revelation that she is the biological daughter of her grandfather Anthony Fox, who raped his daughter Ruby Miligan as a teenager, has left her in turmoil. Her mother's abuse and the fact her grandfather is also her dad, not forgetting the fact he has also been murdered, has left Steph feeling alone and "disgusting".
Her family have rallied around her, but Steph has grown convinced that plastic surgery is the only way forward - after seeing Anthony whenever she looks in the mirror. Actress Georgia had revealed all about Steph's ongoing mental health struggles which reach a devastating point this week on the soap.
As well as trying to secretly push ahead with surgery on her face, Steph lashes out at her partner Ross Barton as she continues to push her loved ones away. As they grow more concerned for her wellbeing, actress Georgia has teased what the future holds.
Discussing her character hitting rock bottom, she hinted that Steph may finally be able to move forward soon as she struggles to deal with what has happened. Speaking about Steph's ordeal, Georgia revealed: "She has intrusive thoughts in the form of imagery.

"She becomes obsessed with wanting to change her image and she's particularly focused on her nose and this develops into wanting a brow lift as well so those are the two things she's focused on. She's just about to go under the knife and they stop her at the last minute and interrupt the surgery from going ahead.
"She doesn't react well at all because she's a young woman, she's not a child, and I think she has liberty to make her own choices and it frustrates her that they are trying to take control of this choice which she believes is fully hers. It does more damage than what we think and it takes her down an avenue that gets her plotting to self-harm herself."
With Steph's turmoil escalating, she turns on those around her leaving her at "the lowest of the low". She explained: "There's a bit of confrontation with Ross and she lashes out at him verbally and physically and it's a really upsetting moment because she is really doing it to herself.

"The words she uses are all towards herself and not towards him. She drives off in a car and keeps drinking and doesn't really know what's going on. I'd say this is pretty much the lowest of the low."
But Georgia has hinted that while Steph is facing rock bottom now, she could build herself back up in the near future.
She said: "I think you've got to hit rock bottom before going back up but there's a lot of building back up after this."
Whether Steph's family can get through to her and get her the help she needs remains to be seen. It's a huge week for Steph and the family, with residents doing what they can to help her.
