Liverpool in major Premier League prediction as exact points total revealed

Liverpool's final Premier League points tally has been forecasted following another potentially season-defining weekend in the top flight. The Reds secured a 2-1 victory over Everton in Saturday'sMerseyside derby, maintaining their flawless start to the season.

Ryan Gravenberchand Hugo Ekitike netted the goals that sealed the win for Liverpool against the Blues, propelling them further ahead at the summit of the Premier League table. Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Manchester City means that the Reds now have a five-point lead at the top of the league standings, having played just five matches.

With only two more Premier League games remaining before the next international break, a new prediction for the final table has surfaced.

Opta Analystshave crunched the numbers and still back Liverpool to clinch the Premier League title once again this season. The forecast suggests that Liverpool will end up with 82 points (81.51), comfortably ahead of second-placed Arsenal who are predicted to finish with 74 points (73.9).

Manchester City are tipped to come third in the final table with 67 points, while Chelsea (62) and Crystal Palace (60) are expected to round off the top five.

Liverpool have also been given a 60.5 percent chance of being crowned Premier League champions once again this season. The Reds are the clear favourites according to the prediction, with Arsenal considered the next most likely to lift the title with a 22.5 percent probability.

Liverpool had to dig deep and show their champion mentality to fend off a spirited comeback from Everton, who managed to score through Idrissa Gueye just before the hour mark.

"There was tension late on. We needed mentality today in a different fashion maybe than a few times before," admitted Liverpool's gaffer, Arne Slot.

"We already knew it would be a difficult game, let alone if you don't have proper preparation time.

"If you play your third game in less than seven days against your rivals you know the second half could be very tough.

"You can see how well we can play if we are fresh - the first 45 minutes we played. The second half was more difficult because of Everton, of course.

"We ran out of energy a bit but we didn't run out of mentality."
