What Taylor Swift said in wedding speech that made 'sister' Selena Gomez cry

Taylor Swift made her best friend and "sister" Selena Gomez cry during her wedding with an emotional speech on her wedding day. The Only Murders In The Building actress got married over the weekend to music producer Benny Blanco.

Among several A-list celebrities attending the event was Taylor Swift. The singer, known for her emotional lyrics, gave a "beautiful" speech and tribute to the bride that one source said had many guests reaching for the tissues.

An insider told the press that Taylor talked about how "she and Selena have both been through so much together both professionally and personally," including heartbreak from previous relationships.

"[Taylor] said that whenever one of them had their hearts broken from failed relationships over the years, they were always there for each other," the source said.

The singer is said to have added that Selena's relationship with Benny worked out because the bride was finally happy with herself and who she was. According to the source, Taylor said: "[It was only] when Selena finally came to the realisation that she was just fine with who she was and concentrated on being just her that she fell in love with Benny."

She added that they were the "perfect pair" and that she had never seen Selena so happy. The source said Taylor continued to talk about her long-standing friendship with Selena, calling them "sisters" and joking that while Selena has beaten her to the altar, at least they both found the "loves of their lives".

Taylor has recently announced that she is engaged to NFL star Travis Kelce. The pair posted a picture of the proposal to Instagram with the caption: "Your english teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."

Selena will likely be attending their wedding as she and Taylor are incredibly close. The two met when they were both dating a Jonas brother in 2007 and have said their friendship is "the best thing we got out of those relationships".

Taylor was not the only famous face at Selena's wedding. UK singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran was also in attendance as were Selena's Only Murders co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short.

The guest list also included Adele, Paris Hilton and Paul Rudd. Due to all the famous faces, security costs are reported to have been $300,000.

The wedding was planned by Mindy Weiss, who has previously worked with Selena's ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey. She has also worked with the Kardashian family.
