A former Big Brother contestant has undergone a dramatic transformation seven years after being removed from the show due to unaired comments that sparked controversy.
Lewis Flanagan appeared on Channel 5's final series of Big Brother in 2018 but was suddenly ejected from the house during the penultimate week following remarks that caused offense.
Seven years on, Lewis looks almost unrecognisable. When he first entered the Big Brother house at the age of 27, he had long hair, a beard, and a man bun.
Now, Lewis sports a shaved head and a moustache. After his stint on Big Brother, he kept a low profile on social media before eventually deactivating his accounts.
Lewis re-joined Instagram in November and has been giving fans a glimpse into his new life in Australia. Despite previously discussing his flexitarian diet and dislike of meat, Lewis now appears to enjoy eating steak, sharing videos and photos of himself savouring the dish.
He has also shared his passion for working out and rock climbing with his followers. Reflecting on his sudden exit from Big Brother, Lewis attributed it to a "slip of the tongue."
In a previous interview with The Sun, he explained: "I was talking to Cameron (Cole) about getting him some outfits and I said the word 'Auschwitz' instead of outfits by mistake.
"It was a slip of the tongue and then I tried to mock Hitler and did an impression of him saying 'Kill the Jews'." When probed further, Lewis added: "I never once tried to offend anyone or hurt anyone's feelings. It's unacceptable.
"I'm not ashamed of myself because I didn't try to offend anyone, it was just a slip of the tongue.
"Unfortunately for me, my bad language and misuse of certain words has exploded in my face.
"I never meant to upset anyone, hurt anyone's feelings or disrespect any kind of background, sexuality, race, gender or religion."
The show issued a statement at the time stating: "Lewis has been removed from the Big Brother House for unacceptable language that contravenes the rules. Lewis has left the House with immediate effect."
Celebrity Big Brother is set to return on Monday, 7th April at 9pm, and will be broadcast on ITV1, ITVX, STV, and STV Player.
