Darts champion fumes at Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and co - 'That was disrespectful'

Colin Lloyd was left furious with , and after watching their recent podcast episode with . The reigning world champion appeared on earlier this week, where he was grilled about his rapid rise to stardom over the last few years. Neville, Carragher and Wright took great pleasure in questioning Littler on a variety of topics.

At one point, they were eager to see how the 18-year-old would cope with adding up checkouts on the spot. Neville asked: "If I give you three random numbers, could you give me finishes straight away?" Littler replied: "I can do," prompting laughter from the rest of the panel.

Lloyd, who won the World Grand Prix and World Matchplay during his career, has since accused Neville and his fellow presenters of lacking respect for Littler by pressing him on his mental arithmetic.

"I actually thought that was a disrespectful question," said Lloyd on . "Quite simply because of course we'd bloody know, we are professional darts players. Our game is numbers.

"It would have been like [asking] Gary Neville: 'If I kicked a ball towards the goal, do you think you could slide-tackle in and clear it off the line?'. Yeah, of course he could, he's a defender. Why did you ask him about numbers then?

"Was it Ian Wright who turned around and said: 'He could call any number out against us, we wouldn't know'. Do your research! Don't sit there and say he could be saying anything and you wouldn't know.

"How unprofessional did they make themselves look? How much are they disrespecting the sport of darts through not doing their homework?"

During his appearance on the podcast, Littler also chatted about football with Roy Keane. The former Manchester United skipper was not afraid to poke fun at the club's current plight while discussing Littler's support for the Red Devils.

Keane asked: "Do you go to United games? Prawn sandwiches? You get looked after?" Littler replied: "Yeah, not seen us win yet though." Neville then added: "You've not seen us win yet?" to which Littler confirmed: "No."

Keane then immediately shot across the table: "He's only been 20 times!" It prompted laughter from Neville before Littler continued: "I went to the Liverpool game last year where we drew 2-2 and this year against Brighton, where I went on the pitch at half-time."
