Queen Camilla paid secret tribute to her late mother in Rome

According to , the Queen opted for the statement necklace that once belonged to her late mother, Rosalind Shand. The sparkling piece features large turquoise stones interlinked by diamonds, with five graduated rows of diamonds hung at the front. These were also paired with smaller gemstones below the large turquoise stone.

The Queen matched these with large diamond earrings. This paid a fitting tribute to her mother, as she shared that her love of public speaking stemmed from her mother's influence.

She said that when she was growing up Rosalind, who died in 1994, would push her to talk at dinner parties and engage in conversations.

The Queen put her best fashion foot forward and stepped out in another Fiona Clair frock, but this time rocked striking teal hue.

This is the third look she has donned this trip, by the London-based designer. The label is renowned for its signature column dress silhouette with long sleeves.

Fiona Clair often incorporates colour into her designs, particularly pastel shades. She has been responsible for many of her poignant looks as Queen, as she created her 2023 Trooping the Colour look.

It has been said that she firmly believes that colour should be chosen to suit one's shape, style, and personality.

Queen Camilla's dress on Wednesday evening showcased the designer's ability to use colour effectively as she created the look based off a vibrant colour and playful lace pattern.

Due to the event being a black tie, opposed to a white tie, it meant that the Queen did not have to did not wear a tiara and opted for statement jewels instead.

Over the years we have seen her sport the Greville Tiara at official events which is a stunning piece that was bequeathed to the Queen Mother by Margaret Greville.

Meanwhile, the King looked smart in black tie with his UK Order of Merit neck order and OMRI (Italian Order of Merit) star. This was paired with a selection of British Orders, including Realm and Jubilee medals.

The couple were hosted by the Italian President and were named as the guests of honour. The King and President were expected to deliver toasts.
