Sony and 2K are teaming up to hold a special State of Play event at the end of April.
The next PlayStation State of Play event will take place at 10pm BST UK time on the evening of April 30. That's 2pm PDT for fans living in the US. The State of Play event will be broadcast live on the PlayStation YouTube and Twitch channels. Daily Express will embed the video within this article once it goes live.
Unlike previous State of Play events featuring dozens of game announcements and gameplay trailers, the upcoming broadcast will focus exclusively on Borderlands 4.
According to Sony, the Borderlands 4 State of Play will run for around 20 minutes, and will feature a look at new weapons, skills, characters and more.
"In this upcoming State of Play, strap in with me and Anthony Nicholson, Senior Project Producer, for over 20 minutes of developer-guided gameplay, including missions, killer weapons, exciting Action Skills, new and returning characters, and more," 2K explains.
Interestingly, the news comes on the same day 2K announced a new release date for Borderlands 4.
Bucking the typical trend of delaying games, 2K actually confirmed plans to move the launch to an earlier date.
The game was originally pencilled in for a September 23 release date, but will now launch on September 12.
2K explains more: "It has been incredible seeing the response as we move closer to the release. Our team has thrown themselves headfirst into making this the greatest Borderlands yet - both for new and returning Vault Hunters.
"After careful consideration - along with a lot of meetings, playtesting, and incredible development work - we have made the monumental decision to move up the date of Borderlands 4 to September 12.
"You'll be able to crash Kairos two weeks sooner. We're beyond excited to share the new world with all of you ahead of schedule."
Borderlands 4 takes place on an all-new planet that's been taken over by a ruthless dictator.
Needless to say, players will be able to unlock a staggering number of weapon combinations, all of which are complemented by new Action Skills.
According to developer Gearbox, it features new movement mechanics like double jumping, gliding, dodging and fixed-point grappling.
