CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamath (TNTJ) on Saturday announced that it would gherao Raj Bhavan on April 12 to condemn the Wakf (Amendment) Bill which was got passed in the Parliament by the BJP govt.
TNTJ general secretary A Abdul Rahim told reporters that Union home minister Amit Shah and Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman were lying in the Parliament about the Wakf Bill.
Abdul Rahim alleged that the Wakf Bill was an attempt to hand over huge tracts of Wakf land to “PM Modi's friends.”
He thanked chief minister M K Stalin and DMK MPs A Raja and Tiruchi Siva for putting up strong arguments against the Bill in the Parliament.
