VISAKHAPATNAM: A youngster attacked a woman with a knife and stabbed the woman’s mother to death after breaking into their house for rejecting his love proposal at Swayamkrushinagar of Kommadi under PM Palem police station limits in Vizag city on Wednesday afternoon, sending shock waves across the city.
The woman’s mother, Lakshmi, died on the spot, while the woman, Deepika, who suffered critical injuries in the attack, is battling for her life in a hospital. The accused has been identified as Naveen, a resident of Madhurawada in Vizag city.
The locals said Naveen was harassing Deepika under the guise of love and marriage. The brutal attack took place on Wednesday afternoon, with Naveen breaking into the house, attacking the daughter-mother duo with a knife, and fleeing from the spot. Lakshmi was found dead in a pool of blood, and the critically injured Deepika was admitted to a private hospital, where her condition is said to be critical.
The PM Palem police reached the crime spot, and they have formed a team to nab the accused, Naveen.
