Johnny Depp was recently spotted filming a new advertisement for Dior, and fans couldn’t help but notice his rugged, Western-inspired appearance.
According to TMZ, the actor was seen wearing a cowboy hat and a poncho reminiscent of Clint Eastwood’s iconic style while shooting the ad in Villaspesa, Spain.
Photos from the set showed Depp embracing the cowboy persona as he worked under the sun in a dry, desert-like area. He appeared relaxed and comfortable as he followed the director's instructions during the shoot. Despite the heat, he stayed hydrated with what looked like a lemon-infused drink, possibly water — a refreshing choice for a warm afternoon.
Witnesses shared that Depp seemed to be in good spirits, smiling and even waving to onlookers during filming. He looked fully immersed in his role, reflecting the experience and professionalism of someone who has spent decades in front of the camera.
The decision to film in Spain adds an interesting layer, as it’s the same country where his ex-wife, Amber Heard, currently resides. However, Depp appeared focused on his work and unaffected by the coincidence.
Dior has remained one of Johnny Depp’s most loyal business partners. After he faced public allegations of abuse from Amber Heard — and many companies distanced themselves from him — Dior continued to support him. In 2022, shortly after Depp’s legal win in the defamation case against Heard, he reportedly signed a massive deal with the fashion brand valued at around $20 million. The new commercial appears to be part of that ongoing partnership.
Since the trial ended, Depp has been slowly rebuilding his career. In addition to his work with Dior, he’s also taken on new film roles, including a project where he is set to play the character of Satan — a bold and intriguing casting choice.
Observers say Depp looks happy to be back at work, and his appearance during the Dior shoot suggested that he has moved past his legal troubles and is focused on his creative future. His fans will likely be eager to see the final result of this cowboy-themed ad when it’s released.
