When discussing Bollywood’s comedy franchises, ‘Hera Pheri’ certainly tops the list. Thus, when the chatter about ‘Hera Pheri 3’ began, everyone thought it was going to be a fun, smooth laughter ride, but instead, the cinephiles saw a controversy marked by Paresh Rawal’s sudden exit from the franchise. Speaking on the matter, Suniel Shetty mentioned that the movie simply cannot happen without Paresh and his iconic character Baburao Ganpatrao Apte aka Babu Bhaiya.
“It cannot happen. 100 per cent cannot happen without Paresh Rawal,” he said to ANI.
He continued, “It can have a 1 per cent chance without me and Akshay, but 100% can’t happen without Paresh ji. No, it doesn’t. Raju and Shyam, if they’re not hammered by Babu here, it doesn’t work."
Earlier, while speaking to India Today, Suniel expressed his surprise and shock at the whole matter. He said he wasn’t every of the situation, until his children, Athiya and Ahan Shetty, informed him about the news and asked him what was happening. “And I was here doing my interviews, and I felt like ‘holy s***’," said Suniel
It is worth noting that in conversation with Mid-Day, Paresh Rawal informed Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and director Priyadarshan about his decision to quit. On the other hand, the director clarified he received no such communication.
Hinting at Akshay Kumar taking legal action against Paresh Rawal, as the actor has invested a huge amount of money in the movie, director Priyadarshan told Hindustan Times, “I don’t know why this happened because Paresh didn’t inform us. Before starting the film, Akshay asked me to check with both Paresh and Suniel, and I did, and both were onboard.”
