The delisting follows a controversy surrounding Kamra’s satirical remarks during a recent performance, where he allegedly referred to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as a "traitor" without naming him. This led to backlash from the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), with its youth leader Rahool Kanal reportedly urging BookMyShow to stop hosting Kamra’s shows. The platform has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
What Kunal Kamra said about Bhavish agarwal, Sudha Murthy and Anand Mahindra at his Mumbai show
During his recent performance in Mumbai, Kunal Kamra took sharp jabs at prominent figures like Bhavish Aggarwal , Sudha Murthy, and Anand Mahindra, blending satire with social commentary.
Kumal Kamra again takes a jab at Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal
Kamra criticised the Ola Electric CEO for the company's handling of customer grievances and unresolved refund issues. He humorously pointed out the gap between the company's ambitious goals and its execution, sparking laughter and debate among the audience. Responding to an audience member's question about Ola scooters catching fire, Kamra quipped, "Indian businessmen don't even admit when they're wrong. Take the Ola guy, for example. What did I say that made him so angry? It's simple—you manufacture two-wheelers, and neither of the wheels works. And yet, he tells me, 'Come work with us, let's build India together. Kamra went on to criticise Aggarwal's focus on launching new scooter colours instead of addressing technical issues. "Maybe a different shade will fix the problem," he joked, adding that Aggarwal should prioritise refunds for customers over offering him money.
Kunal Kamra’s take on Sudha Murty’s ‘simplicity’Kamra also mocked Sudha Murthy's public image as a symbol of simplicity. He quipped that she had written "50 books on her simplicity," poking fun at the contrast between her modest persona and her affluent lifestyle. He also tied this to Narayana Murthy's controversial suggestion that young Indians should work 70-hour weeks, weaving a fictional story about mango shopping to highlight the irony.
He said, “Jo ameer hojate hai aur so middle class hone ki acting karte hai, unme see ek mahan aurat hai, uska naam hai Sudha Murty. Simplicity ki moorat hai who. Uska wohi claim hai ki mein simple hun. Aur usne apni simplicity pe pachaas kitaab likhi hai…har kitaab ka point yeahi hai ki woh simple hai.”
Kunal Kamra roasts Anand MahindraKamra took a dig at Mahindra's frequent motivational posts on social media, humorously suggesting that Mahindra tweets about everything except addressing real-world issues like labor rights or corporate accountability. “Anand Mahindra bhi buddha hai (Anand Mahindra is also old). He tweets about everything—thermodynamics, marine biology, radioactivity—except how to improve his own cars,” said Kamra.
