Hubballi: Four women lost their lives and one person sustained serious injuries in a horrific car crash on Sunday evening near Noolvi Cross on the outskirts of Hubballi.
The deceased have been identified as Sujatha (61), Shankuthala (75), Sampathkumari (60), and Gayathri (65) — all residents of Lingraja Nagar. Three of them died on the spot, while the fourth succumbed to injuries at KMCRI hospital.
The accident occurred when the car in which they were travelling lost control and rammed into a roadside compound wall. The vehicle was completely mangled in the crash.
Veerabasayya, who was also in the car, suffered serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.
A case has been registered at the Hubballi Rural Police Station.
